Number of days’ change is reported relative to the 1997–2011 mean date (from remote sensing observations). Lakes in polar-oasis (relatively high annual precipitation) environments are shown as blue bars and lakes in polar-desert environments (relatively low annual precipitation) are shown as black bars. The red dashed line indicates the 1997–2011 mean change.
