Adjusting heat adaptation measures in the COVID-19 context

The COVID-19 pandemic has required heat adaptation strategies to change due to public health measures. Across Canada, various public health authorities have adjusted their recommendations to meet public health requirements. Due to the closing of air-conditioned public places (e.g., libraries, community centers), it was advised that green spaces and cooling centres be used while maintaining distance and ventilation protocols. Additionally, swimming pools and splash pads were at the disposal of the public given that children were supervised and public health guidelines were followed.
